The Target Harding Self-defense Course
Our Target Hardening curriculum consists of a four hour training course where participants will be educated on likely targets for sex offenders, and how NOT to be one.
Participants will also learn to defend themselves, should they find themselves in a potentially dangerous situation. The self-defense portion of the course includes instruction on defensive postures, blocks, kicks, punches, joint locks, and other defensive moves. Participants walk away from the class with the skills and confidence needed to react to an assault.
The Target Hardening course also stresses the importance of being a pro-social bystander.
Course instructors will discuss the warning signs that someone else may be in danger and safe methods of intervening on their behalf. Participants will learn simple precautions that can help keep everyone safe.

Targeted Intervention Course
The Targeted Intervention program was derived through the integration of experiences working with sex offenders, victims of sexual assault, bystanders, research into the true nature of sexual assault incidence brought together with expertise in the area of self defense and martial arts.
The impetus for the program was the need to provide an education venue for men that was dynamic in presenting the diverse aspects of sexual assault. The result is a course that provides insight into the functioning of all persons involved in an assault and responses (proactive and reactive) that are highly effective.
The course objective is to provide an understanding of the dynamics of sexual assault and provide a skill set to effectively identify, prevent and respond/intervene if necessary in an assault.
Our goal is to teach people how to prevent an attack but if they do become involved in a volatile situation, to respond in a manner that minimizes the negative impact of the confrontation.
Course includes:
- Legal aspects of intervention
- Avoiding being accused of or indirectly involved in sexual assault
- Being a pro-social bystander
- Physical self-defense techniques
